Dr. Lauren Sanders is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland and a legal practitioner. Her focus is on the application of export control, arms trade, and sanctions regimes relevant to autonomous military systems, international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and domestic counter-terrorism law. She received her doctorate from the Australian National University in the field of accountability mechanisms in international criminal law. She served in the Australian Army for several decades as a Signals Officer and Legal Officer.
