Matteo Winkler is Associate Professor at the Law Department and Diversity Committee Co-Chair at HEC Paris. He obtained a Ph.D. in international law and economics from Bocconi University and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Yale Law School. Before joining HEC, he taught international and EU law at Bocconi. His academic interests span cross-border business transactions, human rights, and diversity management, all subjects on which he has published substantially in English, French, and Italian. His most recent articles are “Of Athletes, Bodies and Rules: Making Sense of Caster Semenya” (with Giovanna Gilleri) and “Approaching Diversity and Inclusiveness in International Arbitration” (with Mikaël Schinazi). In 2019, the French no-profit organisation L’Autre Cercle acknowledged Matteo as a role model for LGBT+ and allies in France. Since 2021, he is also the Academic Director of the International Business – CEMS Master Program in HEC Paris. Further information on his research is available here.
