Anna Williams is the Senior Advisor for Civilian Protection in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and served as a member of the Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response Action Plan Tiger Team. A military analyst, Williams specializes in the employment of U.S. military forces at the operational level of war. She is currently detailed to DoD from CNA—an independent, nonprofit research and analysis organization—where she is a Senior Research Scientist in the Operational Warfighting Division. Williams has led a variety of studies on the operational employment of U.S. warfighting capabilities and concepts, and previously deployed as a civilian analyst to the Commander of U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group Three. She holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Northeastern University and a B.S. in chemistry from Dickinson College.
