MAJ Ryan M. McCormick

Major Ryan M. McCormick is an active duty Army judge advocate currently assigned as an Associate Professor of National Security Law at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Virginia. He previously served as the Regimental Judge Advocate for the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia, including multiple deployments to Afghanistan as the senior legal advisor for a joint special operations task force. Major McCormick also served as the Battalion Judge Advocate for 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He commissioned as an Infantry officer and served with the 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, including one deployment to Afghanistan as a rifle platoon leader.

Ryan is married with two children. He holds a LL.M. from the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School at Charlottesville, Virginia, a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law, and a B.A. from Indiana University.
