Caitlin Chiaramonte is a Major in the United States Army and an Academy Professor of Law in the Department of Law at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. Caitlin is from Poughkeepsie, New York. After playing professional basketball from 2006 – 2008 in Germany and Finland and working in the off-season at a New York City law firm as a litigation associate, Major Chiaramonte commissioned into the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2008. Major Chiaramonte has served in several legal positions, including: Legal Assistance Attorney, Tax Attorney, and Prosecutor, Fort Benning, Georgia; Chief of Administrative Law, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Afghanistan; Brigade Judge Advocate, 18th Fires Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Criminal Defense Attorney, Ansbach, Germany; Deputy Command Judge Advocate, United States Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Task Force Legal Advisor, Operation INHERENT RESOLVE; Congressional Fellowship, United States Senate; Legislative Counsel, U.S. Army Office of the Chief Legislative Liaison. Major Chiaramonte has three operational deployments.
