Daphne Karahalios is an International Affairs major at the United States Military Academy. While focusing on Foreign Policy and Security Studies, she developed an interest in international law, counter-lawfare, and integrated deterrence. As an intern for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, she researched non-NATO sources of Soviet weapons for Ukraine. She is the co-author of “Still fit for purpose? Reassessing and revising NATO’s core tasks,” which addresses the changing strategic landscape of this decade and how NATO should refine its core tasks to adapt to emerging challenges. After graduation, she hopes to branch Military Police and following her service, continue her academic career in pursuit of a law degree to further contribute to the U.S. Army and national security.
