MAJ Charles Coventry

Charles Coventry is a Major in the British Army. He serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law, where he teaches International Law (LW481).

Major Coventry graduated in Law from Bristol University in 2006, completed the Bar Vocational Course, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Gray’s Inn in 2007. He practised as a civilian Barrister until 2015, concurrently serving as a Reservist Soldier and then Officer in the Royal Wessex Yeomanry. He served with the latter in Afghanistan, and mobilised for the 2012 Olympics.

Since joining Army Legal Services as an Active Duty officer in 2016, Major Coventry has served in a number of roles, including with Army HQ, the UK Service Prosecuting Authority, Headquarters London District, and operational units. He is thrilled to be in the USA, and striving to learn the rules to various American sports.
