Jeffrey Lovitky
Jeffrey Lovitky is a former member of the U.S. Army JAGC Corps and a former attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He has been in private practice in Washington D.C. since 1989. The focus of his law practice has been U.S. government administrative law, with specialized focus on government procurement and health law. He has extensive experience litigating against U.S. government agencies at both the federal district courts and federal Courts of Appeals. He has an LL.M. degree in Government Procurement Law from The George Washington University and is Board Certified in Health Law by the Florida Bar. He is also the author of numerous articles published in both lay and professional legal journals.
Mr. Lovitky lived in Israel during the Second Intifada from 2001-2006. During the 2006 Lebanon War, Mr. Lovitky volunteered in the northern Israeli border city of Kiryat Shmona, bringing food and other supplies to the residents of that beleaguered city who were living in underground shelters for nearly a month. He has subsequently returned to Israel as well as other parts of the Middle East on a continuous basis for both visitation and professional reasons. He is a former Board Member of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.
Mr. Lovitky served as an impartial observer of several elections in Bulgaria on behalf of the International Republican Institute. He was also a guest lecturer in Lviv Ukraine at the University of Lviv Law Faculty in May 2022. He is currently serving as a volunteer attorney in Israel.
Mr. Lovitky is a proud member of the Army and Navy Club of Washington D.C. since 1985, where he previously served for several years on its Membership Committee. In his spare time, Mr. Lovitky does pro bono legal work. In 2008, he won a landmark victory on behalf of the American Council of the Blind to mandate that U.S. currency be made accessible to blind and visually impaired persons.
