Prof Carlos Arévalo

Carlos Arévalo is a Professor of International Law and International Humanitarian Law at Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia. He is a member of the editorial board of the Anuario Colombiano de Derecho Internacional (Colombian Yearbook of International Law) and the Anuario Iberoamericano sobre Derecho Internacional Humanitario (Ibero-American Yearbook on International Humanitarian Law). For two consecutive periods, he was the President of the Colombian Academy of International Law.

Carlos Arévalo is a former Assistant Justice (Magistrado Auxiliar) of the Colombian Constitutional Court. In four opportunities has been an expert witness at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and has also acted before this Court as Agent representing the State of Chile. His areas of expertise include International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law and International State Responsibility.

Currently, he is the Dean of the School of Law and Political Sciences at Universidad de La Sabana.
