CAPT Christian R. Burne
Christian R. Burne is a Captain in the United States Army Reserve. In his civilian capacity, Captain Burne is a Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Previously on Active Duty as a Judge Advocate, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. He taught Constitutional and Military Law and Military Justice.
He previously served with XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in a variety of positions: Legal Assistance Attorney, Military Justice Advisor, and Trial Counsel. He also deployed as an Operational Law Attorney in support of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve. He is a graduate of the Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course, the DeGlopper Air Assault School, and the United States Army Airborne School.
The grandson of a WWII Army Air Corps Bombardier and Coastguardsman, son of an Air Force Judge Advocate and Air Force Medical Services officer, and brother of an Army Intelligence officer, Captain Burne was born on Vandenberg Air Force Base, California and lived throughout the United States while growing up. He holds a B.S. in International Studies and Philosophy from The University of Scranton. He commissioned as an Army officer through Scranton’s ROTC program, where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate and was granted an Education Delay to attend law school. He earned his J.D. from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
