Justin Monyping Ater
Justin Monyping Ater is a lecturer at the School of Law University of Juba and Starford International University in South Sudan. He is currently a Doctor of Laws (LLD) Candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria. He holds an LLM degree in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA), from the University of Pretoria, an LLB (Hons) degree from the School of Law, University of Juba, and a Certificate of Legal Practice from the South Sudan Bar Association. During his undergraduate studies, he was the overall best oralist in the 2019 first national International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition in South Sudan. Additionally, Justin, was among the top three best oralists in the 2019 All Africa IHL Moot Court Competition in Arusha, Tanzania. Furthermore, he was the national best essayist in the 2019 IHL eastern Africa Universities essay writing competition. He participated in various Conferences such as the conference on the rights humanitarian actors organised by the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria in collaboration with the Switzerland Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa. His research interests are in the areas of human rights law and IHL.
