Dr. Jeroen C. van den Boogaard is Legal Counsel in International Law at the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He is also a lecturer and researcher at the University of Amsterdam. Former positions include that of Assistant Professor in Military Law at the Netherlands Defence Academy; Head of the International Humanitarian Law Department of the Netherlands Red Cross; and military lawyer in the Royal Netherlands Army. His main research interest is military law, particularly international humanitarian law.
