Dr Hsiu-An Hsiao is Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan. She received her PhD in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London, UK. Dr. Hsiao’s research expertise and interests include public international law, maritime security and conflict management; Cross-Strait relations and cross-cutting issues involving Taiwan’s international status. She has published academic works and policy analyses on the relevant topics using both legal and interdisciplinary approaches. In addition to scholarly research, she has also  been the executive director of the “Track II” CSCAP Taiwan Secretariat since 2020. Previously, she had been a public policy scholar at the Wilson Centre for International Scholars in Washington DC; senior research fellow and head of international projects at the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and a research fellow at the National Security Council of ROC (Taiwan).
